Game Writing

Writing the story was... not entirely planned. I wanted to keep the story aspects hidden in notes, in radio signals, and through environmental interactions. This keeps it player controlled and so they can explore what happens at their own pace and in their own time if they want to experience it at all. I wanted to try and keep things as short, sweet, and simple as possible while allowing for players to piece things together and come to their own conclusions while also keeping specific things concrete. You don't know where people are, you are alone, and there isn't much you can do outside of putting together the pieces and trying to move on from that.

Below will contain story spoilers so if you do not want to read those, please scroll away from here.

I wanted the to creatures be threatening and somewhat all surrounding without the constant threat of danger. Let's just say the black flowers everywhere are not any seen on earth. And at the same time, I wanted them to form a solid image in people's minds without showing too much. One of the notes from a doctor (which can be found in the hospital closet trash can on the first floor of the hospital) makes note that it's not like anything they've seen before and yet describe them to be seal-like in how they seemingly have fur yet it's slick as though the creatures are wet.

Honestly, I liked the writing for this project even if it's fractured, it was fun.
